Laura still on 'newspaper recommendation'1.
Archery & marbles as usual.
Jenny rang up about Charles & said that all was settled.
In evening to Dorking (Alix, Harry, L & I) to a cinema & saw Astaire & Rogers in Shall We Dance?2 & laughed at Hitler & Musso in the News Pictorial3, & bought a glass sailors' rolling pin for Alix (3/64) & sandwiches; & a beer in the 'Shades'5; & saw a number of red-headed men;[RG] on returning I had 4 brandies to cure a stomach shaken by the car; & a kidney supper.
