To Bank to fix up sending £100 in L's name to Short's bank at 216 Church Road Hove, & for them to inform him of the transfer via Consul Barcelona, via Foreign Office. This effected. Visited John, much better. Rang up Foreign Office, W. Pollock, who will let Short know by telegram. Bought Honor copper coal-scuttle, 17/6; & tartan egg-boiler 2/6.
Norman & Betty to lunch, then Laura & Norman did Rimbaud1 together2.
Boil still troublesome, but feeling very well in myself.
Franco refuses neutral zone at Barcelona. Cheers for Russia in Madame T's news[RG] cinema when help for Spain proposed.
