'Gilfillan'1
& Norman
[RG]
Honor & Gordon to lunch. Then to Dorland Hall to hear Stephen Spender on Modern Poetry. All about aeroplanes, politics and Spain. Two verses, quoted
from Wilfred Owen and Auden. Gloomy, sissy voice. We heard it relayed, the hall being crowded, with gloomy
preface by Herbert Read.
Boil not yet gone: I spend most of the day in bed. (Orange juice).
