Aug 6 Tuesday. Gelat's Birthday.

Checked typing of Richards1 all morning.
In afternoon sea with Karl: found a few pebbles. (Sea warmer than air, cloudy day)
Started a poem: no use I think.
To village with Laura & Carl (first time for a long time) & Schw. [Schwarz] to whom gave pot of blackberry & apple jelly.
Child lost an eye, from playing ballon San Juan2 [RG]. Third child this year to lose an eye (11 years, 11 years, 5 years — detonator, stone thrown, ball on elastic.)
Laura visited Carmen. I cross–copied Fantasia, 2 copies (3 hours). One copy to John Aldridge.
