Graves' diary ends abruptly at the end of the first week of May. In this first week, he finishes the poem "Remembrance," drafted in April, and notes that Schuyler Jackson has agreed to help with the Dictionary. He also writes that Riding seems unhappier, and that she has lost weight and is running a temperature. There is more talk about a "Friendship Protocol," but on Saturday, 6 May, Graves writes: "At this point the diary seems graveyard; so I stop it."
There is one enclosure this month: a draft of a poem by Graves: "The Moon Ends in Nightmare."
